I was slightly worried about Giles. Neither of these two mohairs is particularly exciting, so they were very much buried at the bottom of the pile, so to speak, and I wanted to use them up so I didn't have to worry about them any more.
The pile on both of them is short and does nothing to hide the seams, or any flaws that might work their way in. There is nowhere to hide! Even worse, the two fabrics are slightly different - the grey slightly stiffer, the pink softer and stretchier - so when I lined up the pieces to pin them together, they always seemed to be different lengths, despite being cut from the same pattern.
But the harlequin style makes a feature of the seams, effectively, and overall I think he turned out rather well. One of the few plus sides to using such short mohair (in my view) is that the limelight falls more on the pattern, the shape, of the bear, than on the little details. And being someone who loves working on shape and isn't so concerned about the details, that's good for me!

I know I usually love the shaggy bears, but this is just gorgeous. We like both the checky style and the colour combination. How about a purple mix next time!
I like him.
Thankyou!
