Drawings

Brrr - it's freezing cold here! Our gas central heating has stopped working, so we're all sitting here in coats and scarves, with hot water bottles, huddled round a borrowed electric heater. My mother, in the meantime, is just about to get on a plane to South Africa. Nice warm South Africa!

Anyway, I have been thinking about what to do, creatively, in 2011. One of the things I would like to do is to produce something decorated with hand-drawn bear images. I'm not great at drawing, but for some reason I do it a lot anyway. Just doodling. I thought I'd take some of them, and see if I could put some kind of text with them.

The idea, I suppose, is to depict a teddy bear who, without being so twee as to actually talk, does have some kind of life.

I'm actually quite happy with all the drawings, but the only one I actually like in terms of telling a story is the last one. The idea of a slightly neurotic teddy bear is quite sweet.

Anyway, I hope you're warm and happy and enjoying the holiday!

I like the Poirot-watching bear.

Thankyou! I drew the bear and then got carried away with the details of the rest of the picture, so the bear kind of disappeared in the middle of it.

Anyway, thank you for visiting my blog - I hope you've both had a lovely Christmas!
